Fai Amoroso, Deaf Education Teacher

Hello.  I am Fai (pronounced Fay) Amoroso.  I attribute my passion for children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to my relationship with my younger cousin Matt.  As a teenager I took great interest in Matt’s language development beginning with sign language and then oral language after he received a cochlear implant.  Now it has been 17 years that I have been teaching children (age’s 3-high school) who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a variety of settings.  I have always believed parent education to be a critical element in determining a child’s success, so I am honored to have the opportunity to support the efforts of Illinois Hands & Voices.
