Chicago Park District Summer Camps

Summer is just round the corner…looking for something FUN for your child do this summer?  Keep reading!

See below for flyers of the Chicago Park District’s Deaf & Hard of Hearing 3 Summer Day Camps for youth & teens, Teen Leadership Camps and Lil’ Campers.

Chicago Park District Summer Day Camps for the Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing youth & teens (kindergarten -8th grade) has one camp, every 2 weeks.  YES, a different camp every 2 weeks.  This way you can pick and choose which camp you want your child to attend. If you sign up for more than 2 camps, you will get a little discount.

Brief descriptions of the summer camps; Camp Sign, Sports Camp and Camp Sign Adventures:

  • June 26th – July 7thCamp Sign – develop leisure and outdoors skills through a variety of nature & environmental arts & crafts, games, swimming and visit different places of the city.  Fee $53
  • July 10th – July 21stSports Camp – develop basic fundamental skills through a variety of sports & team games; rugby, basketball, tennis, floor hockey, swimming and visit different places of the city.  Fee $53
  • July 24th – Aug 4thCamp Sign Adventures – develop leisure and outdoors skills through a variety of nature games, kayaking, team building games, canoeing, Maggie Daley’s Rock climbing, swimming and visit different places of the city.  Fee $53

There is also a Teen Leadership Camp for those who are in high school during the 3 camps. This camp is FREE. This camp combines service to the park with fun activities for teens. Develop leadership, leisure and outdoors skills through a variety of art & crafts, swimming, nature, and games and visit different places of the city with the Camp Sign campers. Team building games and creative thinking will be part of the program. Volunteer Application will need to be filled out for those who are 17 years of age and older.   See attachment or can go to the webpage at www.chicagoparkdistrict.com. There are 2 locations; Horner Park, 2741 W. Montrose Avenue & Gage Park, 2411 W. 55th Street from 12noon-6pm, MondayFriday. Box lunches & snacks will be provided during camp.

Camp Shirt included.

Parents are responsible for bringing their campers to camp and then pick them up at the end of the day by 6pm SHARP.

All of our summers camps mentioned above is open to youth & teens who have all types of hearing loss and KODA (kids of deaf parents).

Lil’ Campers will be held during the week of August 7th-11th at Horner Park from 10am2pm. Fee is $10.
