The Chicago Park District specializes in serving the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community throughout the city of Chicago. The parks offer year-round programming to meet the recreational needs of individuals who are who have all types of hearing loss, from early childhood through adulthood.

Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing Men & Women’s Basketball programs
Our teams: Chicago Rebels, Chicago Ravens & Lady Panthers compete on a competitive level and scrimmages. The teams participate in local Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing basketball tournaments as well in Regional & National Tournaments.

American Sign Language Class for Adults
Learn the basic course of ASL.

$51 one-time fee

Deaf Adult Arts & Crafts
For Adults with Deafness and Intellectual Disabilities
Wednesdays, 7pm-830pm
$20 one-time fee // Seniors age 60 & over receive a 50% discount

Judo Program
For individuals with primary diagnosis of blindness or visual impairment & have all types of hearing loss
Thursdays, 7pm-8pm
FREE, ages 15 & up

Pre-Teen Club
Fridays, 630pm-930pm
$7 one-time fee, Ages 9-12

Teen Club
Fridays, 630pm-930pm
$7 one-time fee, Ages 13-18(8th graders thru-High School)

Early Childhood Program
Saturdays, parents/caretakers are encouraged to attend
$6 per class, ages 3-5

Chicago KIDS & Parents Club
All deaf and hard-of-hearing youth & hearing siblings, and their families, as well as hearing youth of deaf parents (up to age 14) will be in for fun-filled programs of special events happening within the city of Chicago; held every third Saturday or Sunday of each month.
